Prime 7 Television has an opportunity for a Traffic Scheduler to join our Traffic team based at our Canberra Station. We are looking for someone who has a passion for television, and is ready for an exciting opportunity in a unique work environment.

This position reports through to the Network Traffic Manager and is primarily a data-entry/administration role and requires daily targets to be met to ensure prompt completion of schedules on a daily basis. The Traffic department is responsible for the daily creation of transmission schedules that are broadcast on-air to all of the PRIME7/GWN7 channels & viewing areas.

Position Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the role include:
•    Full creation of daily schedules for PRIME7/GWN7 services using the IBMS database system
•    Timing schedules down to the exact second for every event that is broadcast on-air
•    Providing a transmission schedule that is aesthetically pleasing to both viewers and clients
•    Prompt finalisation of schedules to the On-Air department ready for next-day transmission
•    Forward planning and preparation of schedules ahead of time
•    Suitable scheduling of commercials, promotions, sponsorship material & other events
•    Adherence to the compliance requirements of the Free TV Code of Practice
•    Daily post-transmission analysis to ensure all services successfully went to air
•    Liaison with external departments including Sales, Programming, On-Air and Production 

Required Skills

The successful applicant should have:
•    A strong enthusiasm for television
•    The ability to plan and prioritise workload and be able to multi-task
•    A high level of attention to detail and data entry skills
•    The ability to solve simple numerical calculations
•    Strong communication & interpersonal skills in order to operate as part of a large team
•    The ability to work under pressure and to meet daily deadlines
•    Experience working towards daily targets and deadlines
•    Flexibility to assist staff members and to be a team player
